It’s endlessly funny to me that this was also Mathew Yglesias’s line running up to the last debate.
“All the videos in which Biden appears to be in decline were falsely edited, but the part I can’t understand is why Democrats aren’t putting him out there more!!? It just makes no sense. He should really be out there doing more things and the fact that the people closest to him, the people who spend all their time with him, the people who know his condition best keep hiding away is really weird! Why are they doing this? It’s a total mystery!”

It’s like if there were rumors about the health of the team’s ace pitcher going into game seven and we’ve made it all the way to the bottom of the ninth in a one-run game and he’s made no appearance and you’re still going “we know he’s healthy, so why isn’t he in there? This is a total mystery! Why won’t the manager put him in there! Obviously he’s healthy!”

Listen, Jennifer Rubin seems like she might actually be insane, but Yglesias is not stupid. It’s the other thing.

I know he doesn’t care what I think and why would he, but this kind of bums me out, because I actually really like his writing and it seems so stupid to be completely burning credibility like this.
