An all-timer of an opening. FINAL DESTINATION 2 *instantly* instilled a new, lifelong fear in everyone who watched (or merely heard about it). A cultural legacy that significant is no small feat. Phenomenal!!!
Since I’ve been posting through my FD 1st watches, a lot of people thought this fear would be new to me. NOPEβ€” fans and civilians alike felt the shockwave in 2003 as the Log Truck Fear hit. And it’s at the TOP OF THE SCENE! Unceasingly, inventively brutal. Chef’s kiss. πŸ₯°πŸͺ΅
The fear is so ingrained in us all now, so obvious, that it’s jarring when the cop isn’t immediately nervous behind the truck! It’s like Jonathan Harker not suspecting the creepy dude named Dracula of being a vampire. Feels like timeless common knowledge/collective concern.
