This is what the Mayor of Joburg said to me when I asked him to elaborate on his statement of people ‘inciting unrest’
I needed to understand what he meant especially when he said ‘journalists like you’ and inturn got told I’m asking too much. #surcharge #Gauteng
I will not be bullied. I will not be told what to ask or how much to ask. There is media freedom in this country. And when a serious allegation is made against ‘journalists like me’ I will ask for clarity.
I will always stand up for what is right.
The best way to deflect is to attack me personally. Call me emotional. Attempt to discredit my questions and seeking clarity on a matter that is boiling.
Deflect. Call me names.
I will do my job. And that’s also to hold those in office accountable.
