Breakups suck, but your comeback story is what matters.
Follow this blueprint to rise from the ashes.
< Breakup Recovery Guide >
1. Take a deep breath
During a breakup, your body is flooded with stress hormones and negative emotions.
It’s important to not give in to these emotions and let them control you.
Take a moment to slow down, breath deeply, and remind yourself that you are in control.
2. No contact
Do not contact your ex.
There is nothing good that can come from it.
The short term relief of hearing their voice or seeing a picture of them will only result in more long term pain.
Block them on all social media, you owe it to yourself to heal
3. Release your grief
The end of a relationship is very similar to experiencing the death of a loved one.
In a safe place, it’s ok to grieve the death of your relationship.
A typical grief session lasts about 20-30 minutes.
Cry it out, feel better, move forward.
4. Find healthy outlets
You are likely experiencing a great deal of anger after a breakup.
Channel that anger into intense but healthy activities:
• Lift weights
• Martial arts
• Play sports
Reclaim your masculine spirit.
5. Call up friends and family
This is the best time to reconnect with your loved ones.
Humans aren’t meant to do life alone, and strengthening your social bonds will help you heal.
They will remind you that you are still loved and cared for.
6. Start talking to other women
Whenever your ready, start talking to new women.
You don’t need to look for a serious relationship, but it’s good to start reconnecting with women in a fun and positive way.
The sooner the better.
7. Make a plan
A man must always be building something or working toward a goal.
Get clear on what you want in life, make a plan, and execute it.
There’s nothing holding you back.
8. Take Responsibility
This one is hard, but there’s a reason your relationship ended.
While she probably did some unforgivable stuff, the truth is you weren’t perfect either.
By accepting responsibility for your role, you actually increase your ability to heal faster.
9. Do something nice for yourself
You matter.
What’s something you’ve always wanted to do that you’ve been putting off?
Now is the time to do that.
Take a trip, learn a skill, have fun experiences.
You have to take care of yourself before someone else will.
