Oh so an actual Japanese Historian confirming Yasuke was a Samurai? Did he find a new unreleased source? I’ll have a read.
Oh…it dumbs down to “there’s no evidence saying he was not a Samurai, so we can assume he is”. That same twisting of burden of proof fallacy again.
Btw, lots of people overnight were wondering who the “historian”is, seems we have our answer, and its…sus. 🧵
Credit to @purplewhale24 for digging.
This Historian is working a PR firm backed by Blackrock, Vanguard, Goldman Sachs to name a few.
The PR firm “specialises” in adapting Japanese cultural content to a “modern western audience”.
So basically, it seems at least this Historian…has a financial incentive to push specific unproven historical records, and passing off as fact.
And if it wasn’t more sus than it already is. This PR firm has recently made exclusive distribution deals with Right Stuff Anime…that is owned by Crunchyroll
Same Crunchyroll that many noticed embezzling their sub money to fund their pet “American anime”, push for invasive “localizations”, among others.
For those who want to see what else the historian posted here,
See this, she compiled most of his responses. Doubt it be anything new though its all just long-winded “no evidence is evidence”.
For a longer breakdown of this “historians” questionable connections.
