Almost unbelievably my negative characterization of Gen X-- which I think of as somewhat basic "comedy," but since I'm not a "comedian" and am actually funny and would never stoop to frame what I do as "comedy" rendering it lame and unfunny-- has become my most controversial thing the last few months
So the difference in saying something that provokes weepy offense and saying something that's a clever "bit" is being a "comedian" i.e. posting pictures of yourself hanging out with Stavros Halkias types and pictures of yourself onstage with a microphone and having a reverence for Norm McDonald
The Gen X community--stuck in varying states of quasi-communist punk rock self-discovery-- has let me know that my stereotypes of them feeling eternally oppressed by sinister televangelists, living eternally in the memory of an idea of punk transgression which never existed, having a permanent bratty atheist nihilism which has made them willing pawns for woke Covid libtardation as evidenced by the fact I see them walking around in band shirts and Covid masks all over Austin--are not true. Actually they are all brave amazing nonconformists and my personal observations from being a Gen X cusp with Gen X siblings and growing up mired in the Gen X mindset are simply not true
So now in 2024 since the cultural efforts of everyone right-wing have finally provoked a noticeable reaction against the last decade of libtard oppression, and we've all spent years identifying why woke liberalism has ruined the world, Gen Xers come out of the woodwork and go on podcasts and muse about why movies are not good like they used to be and why people are so PC or whatever while still identifying as innocent Democrats, lol
