After the end of Kalyani Chalukya/Salunke dynasty. The Chalukyas settled in Sangameshwara in Ratnagiri district and ruled as vassals under Deogiri Seuna-Jadhavrao emperors.

This Sangameshwar Chalukya/Salunkes fought against Bahmanis, portuguese & Adilshahis for nearly 250 years & remained independent until combined Adilshahi and portuguese forces defeated them in 1580s.

Terror of Chalukyas on Old Mysore region
After the downfall of Kalyani Chalukya/Salunkes. The Chalukyas lost control over Karnataka and Mysore which was ruled by them for millenium but some Chalukya branches served under Vijayanagara & Bagul Rashtrakutas kings until mid 16th ce.
It was in mid 17th the Chalukyan swords again started conquering Karnataka & Mysore

Harjiraje's Victory over an invincible general Kumariya was a replica of millenia old Chalukya/Salunke title 'Anivartaka-nivartayitri'┬а i.e the repeller of unrepellable.
