now on the horrific harassment, torture and killing of an #elephant in #Jhargam #WestBengal by a 'Hulla Party' in full view and knowledge if not endorsement of the
& officals.

*Against the law- #Wildlife (#Protection) Act, 1972.
*Contempt of the Court: The @SupremeCourtIND
has completely banned the use & throwing of fireballs for driving elephants. This is WP-489/2018, and for what it is worth, i am the petitioner (feel an utter failure)
Will the @moefcc again be complicit? Will #ProjectElephant @ForestDeptWB take hard decisions.
We claim to protect, worship elephants-but we can't provide them habitat, can't give them space,-either physically, or in our hearts.

The other severely injured tusker,as per reports, can't stand & is being pushed into the forest by a JCB, right now , as i write.)
We need accountability. And we need this to stop.
Such death and constant harassment and torture is not the first time (even since the SC order), but it has to be the last.
What has #WestBengal/and other states done to comply with it. (and #Assam using gun pellets repeatedly is no better, i hear horrific reports from there too)

Also-where is the State Board for Wildlife ? or is it plaint as in most states now? Again, accountibility.
