Premier League is rigged for Man City. Here are the evidence 👇
NOTE: (Only covering the last 3 yrs)
[MEGA - THREÁD 🧵]
Before we start, let's listen to Mark Goldbridge's opinion on referees, match fixing and Man City
24/25 season
Man City vs Arsenal
Doku deliberately kicks the ball away here.
The Referee can see it and even the fans reacted. No yellow. He ignores it #AdvantageManCity
Trossard gets a second yellow for the same few minutes later... #AdvantageManCity
Man City vs Ipswich
City 1 nill down then they get this soft penalty
The referee later call it soft when the same happens to Ipswich player minutes later
These are calls that could have changed the game entirely. #AdvantageManCity
Arsenal(Direct competitors) vs Brighton
Two early yellows for Arsenal's both CDMs are dished out.
Rice then gets a second yellow for this💀["Delaying play"]
Veltman does way worse in the same game, just before the Rice incident. Guess what....
23/24 season was a 3 horse race at the start.
The point of having this table is for us to understand the impact of 3 points swing to the "title race"
City won the league with only 2 points ahead of Arsenal
Howard Webb admits Kovacic should have been sent off vs Arsenal
He says Michael Oliver didn't want to "overreacting"
We all know the impact of that send off given Rodri was unavailable for their next fixtures
#AdvantageManCity
Man City vs Man United
A derby, tight game, everyone fighting for a win.
Soft challenge from Hojlund on Rodri and as usual the referees were too generous on City
First goal from a pen, you know what that does to the game. +3
Arsenal Vs Newcastle
Clear foul and Ball out of play.
Even Willock admitted later that the ball was out of play before he made the cross
Arsenal then loses the game 1-0
We know what that means. +3 to City
Arsenal didn't get a penalty on shirt pull against Gabriel in the box. [Verdict: soft challenge]
Same challenge that saw City get a penalty against Manchester United
Liverpool, a serious title contender 23/24 season, top of the table with 4 points clear.
Then this happens. VAR rules out their goal against Spurs then sends then an apology immediately after the game.
Late on last season, there were reports that Nottingham Forest suspected their Foward (Chris Wood) was involved in match fixing in their game vs Man City.
Wood missed several open chances and even stopped some Forest goals from going in
PL referees on Man City payroll?
-- Michael Oliver, Stuart Burn and Cook are on another League's Payroll who are with close links to City owners
You want to understand how this is connected to man City?
In 22/23 season,
Arsenal vs Brentford
Brentford made a late equalizer against arsenal( Clearly on offside position) but the VAR didn't intervene.
Instead, they sent an apology after the game claiming it was human error
Here is the video.
2021/22 season.
A season that saw only one point separating the champions and runners up.
Let's look at what happened within the season and might have swayed the advantage to Man City
In Arsenal vs Man City game
Referee didn't check a clear penalty that could have taken arsenal 2 nill up
But gave Man City even softer penalty minutes later to equalize.
City later won the game at stoppage time x.com
Man City vs Wolves
The craziest penalty in history.
Until today, nobody can explain this. x.com
This is just a few of the memorable decisions that has favoured Man City in the last few years.
I know there are many other, and you are welcomed to share on the comments.
