Pride is considered the most egregious of the Seven Deadly Sins. It is an unwillingness to live in accordance with the truth, an inordinate desire for excellence or glory beyond one's state in life, and judging oneself greater than one is.
Pride goeth before destruction.

Greed (or avarice) is an inordinate desire for material possessions, wealth, or power. It is characterised by an insatiable desire beyond what is necessary in accordance with one's state in life, and often at the expense of the common good.
For the desire of money is the root of all evils; which some coveting have erred from the faith, and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.

Lust refers to an inordinate, uncontrolled desire for sexual pleasure. It is a distortion or inversion of love and affection, focusing primarily on physical or material gratification.
For many have perished by the beauty of a woman, and hereby lust is enkindled as a fire.

Envy is the excessive desire for another's abilities, status, or possessions. It's often accompanied by resentment towards those who have what one lacks. Unlike jealousy which is a natural inclination, envy also desires the ruin of the other.
For where envying and contention is, there is inconstancy, and every evil work.

Gluttony is the excessive indulgence in or consumption of food, drink or other pleasures to the point of extravagance or waste. It is the elevation of the appetites over the higher powers, and causes one to become decadent.
Their end is destruction; whose God is their belly; and whose glory is in their shame; who mind earthly things.

Wrath is an inordinate desire for vindication arising from unmoderated sorrow at some offence. It manifests as a desire to exact revenge or punishment upon another, and leads one to violence or murder.
Cease from anger, and leave rage; have no emulation to do evil.

Sloth (or acedia) goes beyond mere physical laziness. It includes spiritual apathy, neglecting one's spiritual growth, and avoiding the duties according to one's state in life.
The thoughts of the industrious always bring forth abundance: but every sluggard is always in want.

In order to overcome these seven deadly sins, one must grow in the seven opposing virtues.
Humility conquers pride.
Generosity conquers greed.
Chastity conquers lust.
Meekness conquers wrath.
Temperance conquers gluttony.
Charity conquers envy.
