First, let’s define what an impulse shift is:
An impulse shift is simply a fair value gap displacing away from a HTF point of interest.
It is a V-shaped reversal that confirms that the orderflow is now shifting from a sell program to a buy program. x.com

We can find impulse shifts on HTF contexts.👀
This includes Push contexts (IRL → ERL) and Pull contexts (ERL → IRL).
IMO, it is best to trade Push context because we are trading with the trend instead of against it. x.com

Context is nothing if you don’t know what timeframe to align it with. ❌
Below are the timeframe alignment I use to accurately determine the impulse shift.
I only demand one FVG displacing away from the timeframe alignment shown here.

Check the timeframe above the context timeframe if it’s actually high-probability. ⚠️
In this case, price is between the monthly and weekly FVG resulting into trapped orderflow
This is low-probability to trade and you need to wait for price to disrespect a PD array before trading.
