Scott quit the Out for Smokes podcast on October 12 following an argument. On October 13 I apologized for some stuff I said and our producer Jonny and I begged him to stay but he said he was leaving and there were no hard feelings. x.com
Sean was invited in to record on October 13 and refused. He was invited on October 16 and refused. He was invited to record on October 20 and never answered. I booked a guest to record on October 23, and Sean couldn’t make it due to a scheduling issue.
On October 26 I found out that Sean had been in the show’s discord server trashing me to our fans and spreading misinformation. I think he always has and still does blame me for Scott leaving. x.com
I felt this was a pretty significant breach of trust and suggested we part ways and figure out how to do it amicably.
On November 3rd after expressing a desire to come back I reluctantly invited Sean back in to record and he refused once again. x.com
I decided once again that we should part ways and we began to discuss what that would look like. I offered him 15% net revenue (half his regular pay) for six months. I was hoping that it would buy us an easy split and a smooth transition to our next projects.
I’m not sure what Sean means when he accuses me multiple times of stealing money from him. Sean was paid $1,000 on November 4th, about 80% of his regular payout despite only appearing on one week of the show in October. x.com
Through the month of October Sean was not locked out of the studio and he could have recorded a solo episode or addressed our fans at any time.
In the beginning of December I paid him $500 which was a little more than 15% net revenue. Keep in mind I’m doing the show by myself and have been paying writers and paying guests, and we have unsurprisingly lost subscribers since he’s been gone. x.com
I thought we could test the waters and try to record something together last Thursday and all I’ll say is that I think it’s impossible for us to work together or be friends.
He also called me a racial slur on his Instagram back in October. A lot of you probably think this is funny cuz you’re also racist. x.com
I don’t feel like I owe him anymore money. In almost three months he hasn’t done a single positive thing for the business we apparently own together. Our Patreon revenue is down and I don’t feel it’s right to pay him for a show he hasn’t contributed to.
I’m sorry to our fans who liked us together. The show was good. Sorry we couldn’t handle one bump in the road. It’s very lame. Hope you enjoy what’s coming next.
