The rejection of the philosopher and mystic doctrine of marātib al-wujūd (levels of Being in terms of chain of realms) and intrinsic hierarchy of Being, based on ontological realism and essentialism, gives birth to all modern-ills: modernity, liberalism, secularism, feminism,

transgenderism, empiricism, atheism, existentialism and so on. When the already-flattened world is stripped of formal and final causes that preserve meaning, realities and purpose of beings, a mechanistic and materialist view of the world emerges, where everything is understood
in quantitative terms and qualities are ultimately reduced to being secondary to the corporeal existence, being ultimately mental and social constructs. With putting desire above everything, religion, scripture, gender, status, knowledge etc, all become relative to the choice and
way of people. With this, oppressive power structures are also born, upon whom no one can put a leash unlike before when the Divine revelation and Prophetic inheritors would keep a check of right and wrong, and so it is mostly the elite and powerful who dictate the culture and
new focus of worship of people. The classical and some moderate liberal thinkers were able to withhold some of these consequences for centuries because of their pseudo-realist empiricism, scripture and dominant traditional christian culture, but as the time passed and these
elements weakened, the post-enlightenment and postmodern thinkers, in their critical spirit against modernity, pushed the consequences of the philosophical and religious ideas of their liberal predecessors, and were able to wreck the havoc we all know today. John Rawls, the
liberal and secular theorist whose theory of liberal freedom is dominant today, made way for the legalization of the modern-ills with the ‘veil of ignorance’. You are asked to imagine an original position, in which people are viewed regardless of their essential differences of
religion, gender, status, age, maturity, expertise etc and what is right and wrong or good and bad. In order to create a free egalitarian society, Rawls argues that we must treat people according to this original position. His position is presumptive of the denial of intrinsic
realities that I mentioned above. Moreover, when it comes to practical application, they adopt irony, because they will make laws on their own or based on dominant culture. Under 18 people are not legally allowed to marry despite the fact that it could be someone’s choice which
causes no physical harm to others. This is just a minor example, in reality, the elites and those in authority will always make laws on their own and dictate the culture and law of a nation and beyond. That’s why, true freedom is impossible in the liberal framework and society.
Liberalism will always generate the opposite of what it claims as Patrick J. Deneen notes. It generates inequality, bias, arbitrariness, oppressive power structures, hegemonic western culture and so on. And all of this is because of its own true nature and inner contradictions. x.com
Freedom is in the mastery of the soul, instead of arbitrary desire-based indulgence, and liberalism is an obstacle in this path, because it promotes indulgence, especially with capitalism, and gradually makes people succumb to the modern State and dominant culture of the time.
