1/ Wasting money is more acceptable than wasting time. This shouldn't be so.
2/ We all see people throw away money and think to ourselves, what a waste.
3/ When we see people throw away time, we rarely make the same observation.
4/ Yet the person who throws away time is crazier than the person who throws away money.
5/ It's even more insane to waste than money โ€” we can't make any more when it runs out!
6/ If you dig below the surface, maybe of the people you admire likely control their time. They donโ€™t waste it.
7/ Because we misunderstand time, we never end up with more of it. As we get more productive we just fill up the gained time with more work.
8/ Consider what we consume. The upfront costs to reading are real and visible. So we tend to skim, thinking this will โ€œsave us time.โ€
9/ When we skim the surface we end up over-confident and closed minded. This causes us to take unwarranted risks.
10/ Because weโ€™re closed minded, we donโ€™t adapt to reality. We fail to update our false beliefs and cling to whatโ€™s comfortable.
11/ Also consider relationships. We're often too busy to spend time with the ones we care about. This is what we regret most near death.
12/ Your strategy for success canโ€™t be mutually exclusive from living a life of meaning.
13/ Time is invisible, so it's easy to spend. It's only near the end of our life that most of us will realize the value of time.
