Until amazon has greedy big fat margin with its fleecing fee model, I think small business would survive
Challenge is actually when small seller wants to expand to online space he can't offer the high tech support and customer service which amazon offers
Second is small sellers has least credibility due to few unscrupulous elements out to take customers for a ride
Certainly a seller trust, credibility certification or ecommerce authorised seller is what a seller and customer needs to establish the trust
In the age of pandemic, where everything is migrating online from birthday to prayer meeting
Government should seriously think to develop a desi amazon infrastructure to give a hand to crippling small sellers
No seller would hesitate to upgrade if he is assured more business
Markets and policies have always been big fish friendly.
Amazon is clear in its strategy they lure the buyers with illusionary discounts and deals
Which means converting the mindset and behaviour of buyers
Think buying think amazon is their mantra
If this is achieved, sellers are just slaves for their marketplace
Government has well understood this hence they squeeze the maximum of this
Government will benefit twice gst revenue if it's done online
Once for the product
Second for the ecommerce service which is 18%
So government earns 18% as just income per daily turnover of amazon
Classic example of amazon payout for a cloth mask which we sell offline for 150 including 5% gst
