Psychology Hacks To Win Negotiations.

1. Dress up well.
- First impressions count and have an impact on outcome of negotiations
- Dress for power- a bold, professional look conveys your reliability and trustworthiness
Look like -
You care about the meeting and its outcome
2. Practice consistency.
- Be Consistent in your positive behaviour. It shows your integrity, honesty, and reliability.
- It makes others trust you better.
3. Pay attention to body language.
- Be mindful of your own body language.
Notice the
- Frequency and length of eye contact
- The firmness of handshakes
- Genuineness of smiles and other facial expressions
4. Check the signs.
- For engagement, disengagement and stress in their body language.
- Dont just judge based on one sign for each of the category.
- Consider at least three signals to judge whether they are interested/not interested.
- Talk accordingly.
5. Concentrate on interests.
- Dont pull the current situation right away. It results in anger.
- Understand the conflicts "between each side's needs, desires, concerns, and fears"
- It helps you to win the negotiation soon.
6. Concentrate on the problem.
- Focus on finding a solution to the problem.
- Dont let egos to get in the way.
- Dont to focus on people unless it is important.
- Appreciate and value their input. It makes you win the negotiations.
7. Explore options.
- Come up with multiple solutions that work for you.
- Give choice to your opponent.
- Put your most preferred option towards the end.
- Ask their choice. It gives their judgement but within your choices.
8. Use partnership terminology.
- Right words have power to alter psychology of people you're in discussions with.
- Don't call it a negotiation. Call it cooperation, partnership, or collaboration.
- It makes others subconsciously condition their thinking to reach same goals
