Here’s 8 things you can do to make your life more emotionally stable.
Emotional stability is key in feeling content and fulfilled.
A THREAD 🧵:
1. Don’t make assumptions: if you’re wondering why someone did something or why they didn’t do something, ask.
We all create stories in our minds about people’s intentions that are rarely true. Communication is key.
2. Speak your needs and expectations: so many of us expect people to be mind readers. No one can understand what we need unless we openly tell them.
3. Get comfortable with saying no: say no regularly to things that drain your energy, make you feel uninspired, or that takes you away from what you’re prioritizing. All fulfilled people have clear boundaries.
4. Find some way to give back: this can mean giving time, energy, offering your skill set, or financial support. Giving back and serving something bigger than your self helps to create community connection. This sense of belonging is healing.
5. Dedicate time each week to doing something you love, just for you. It’s important to have unstructured time for play, creativity, exploration without needing any specific end result.
6. Learn how to regulate your emotions. This means learning how to feel and accept emotions, rather than habitually reacting to your emotions. This gives you greater control over you responses and your overall behavior.
7. Spend time in nature. Nature is the greatest healer. Get in the sun, be among the trees, discover a new trial. This is a complete reset for the nervous system
8. Unsubscribe from urgency culture. Put space between automatically answering texts, emails, or other people’s crisis. Check in with yourself first— are you in a place to respond? If not, respond when you are.
