breastfeeding helps by a great deal as well as an ancestral diet where the food is much harder than modern food. environmental factors play a much larger role compared to genetics in the development of the facial structure.
the reason why genetics shouldnβt be blamed for an underdeveloped or vertically developed/ narrow jaws which eventually causes breathing problems/ non-aligned teeth. if you look at photos of your βownβ ancestors, youβd see that almost all of them had a well developed maxilla.
facial dystrophy is almost always a result of lack of breastfeeding, soft diet, incorrect breathing methods, weak tongue due etc.
the opposite of what our ancestors did. they were largely supportive of breastfeeding and their diet contained hard food.

this definitely can be reversed with proper breathing, resting the tongue on the mouth roof without the tip touching the front teeth as well as engaging in tongue exercises & proper chewing.
even better if children are subtly taught this *before* they develop facial dystrophy.
