Higher education has become commoditized and no longer holds the weight it once did.
The future will demand emotional skills. These will set you apart and give you the level up a degree no provides.
Here’s 5 skills to master (🧵):
1. Healthy Communication: the ability to openly and objectively communicate what your needing or feeling. While also being able to actively listen to what someone else is needing or feeling.
Highly suggest the book “Non Violent Communication”
2. Self Awareness: the ability to understand how you think, react, and what you feel. Understanding your attachment style and childhood trauma (and how this impacts you today.) Learning your conditioned self and your true, subconscious motivations.
3. Nervous system awareness: the ability to understand your own nervous system responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) and how these impact your behavior. As well as the behavior of others.

4. Boundaries: all emotionally healthy relationships have boundaries (or clear limits.) Learn how to set, hold, and honor the boundaries of others.
Book: “Boundaries” by Henry Cloud
5. Holding space: the act of allowing someone to speak or be as they are without trying to: give unsolicited advice, interject your own personal opinion, or try to “fix” it for them.
Being with what is, even when uncomfortable.
