5 hacks to work 5x faster than 94% of people:
1. Know your "why"
What are you trying to achieve?
What purpose drives you?
What is your main goal?
If you have no direction, you'll constantly be pulled off course.
If you have a personal mission, you’ll find it easier to maintain focus.
Use it to anchor your attention:
Whenever something takes your focus, ask yourself:
“Will this get me closer to achieving my primary goals?”
If the answer is “no”, you know you can’t let it distract you.
Knowing your why helps you turn down anything not aligned to it.
Focus only on what matters most.
2. Eliminate distractions
Imagine this:
You’re bored.
You decide to check social media for "just" 5 minutes.
Then you read an article, watch a video, and check your email.
Next thing you know, you've wasted 30 minutes.
Distractions destroy your productivity.
Try this:
When you’re working, remove all distractions:
• Block social media
• Turn notifications off
• Put your phone out of sight
Want to take a break and check your phone?
Avoid any sites or apps you know will suck you in.
Use it with a purpose so you don't get distracted.
3. Remember your time is valuable
Time is your most precious resource.
You can never get back time you've lost.
Your life is ticking away second by second.
Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Does this seem negative?
It's actually not.
Here's why:
Remembering your time is limited will increase your urgency.
This will drive you to act fast, prioritize well, and be efficient.
Ask yourself: “If today was my last day, what would I do?”
It’ll help you set your priorities straight.
4. Have a prioritized to-do list
There's always more to be done.
Trying to do everything results in doing nothing.
You need to have a few (3-5) clear priorities to focus on each day.
Here’s how you start:
Write down all of your to-dos.
Pick out 3-5 of the most important (and most urgent) tasks.
Write those on a separate list and put that list in a visible location.
This will clearly show you what you should be focused on during your work periods.
5. Take regular breaks
There’s a limit to how long you can work at maximum output.
It might be 30, 45, or 60 minutes... but after that time, your focus will drop.
You need to take regular breaks to recover - just like you would in the gym.
But here’s an important note:
You should avoid using breaks to check social media or your phone.
Why? Two reasons:
1. You need to be disciplined with your breaks.
Avoid going over the time you’ve allowed for it.
Social media leads to infinite distractions and will make you lose track of time.
2. Breaks are meant to give your brain time to rest and unwind.
Instead of checking social media, do activities that refresh you:
• Meditation
• Breathwork
• Walking outside
You’ll be recharged, refreshed, and ready for more productive work.
