In 7 months, I've grown to 26K followers on Twitter & 9K on LinkedIn.
No clickbait BS.
No "Learn more in 2 mins than 4 years of Uni"
No "99% of everybody sucks here's how to be in the top 1%"
No "Dominate life with my superhuman mental mastery mind models"
Here's how to do it:
No clickbait BS.
No "Learn more in 2 mins than 4 years of Uni"
No "99% of everybody sucks here's how to be in the top 1%"
No "Dominate life with my superhuman mental mastery mind models"
Here's how to do it:
I followed basic content writing principles.
1. Write an attention-grabbing hook
2. Prioritize structure
3. Make it about your audience
4. Deliver on your promises
My audience is engaged & I've built a valuable community.
Anybody can do this.

Let's get specific β
1. Hooks
To write a great hook:
-Poke at pain points to light up emotions
-Add credibility to build trust
-Build intrigue to pique interest
-Don't give it all away so they 'turn the page'
You don't need to promise the world when you know how to capture attention strategically.

People want to know:
-Why they should bother reading
-How it will help them solve a problem
-What they will learn
A bad hook makes it all about you, doesn't get specific, and doesnβt leave anything up to the imagination.
Or, it relies on promising superhuman powers π

Here are 15 valuable hook formats that get it right.
It's not only possible to go viral with value,
it's a much better way to attract an engaged audience that gives a shit about you (and will eventually buy).

2. Structure
Bad structure ruins great ideas.
The best writing, presented in the wrong order, won't move the needle.
There are a zillion formulas and frameworks out there.
Here are the top 2 (according to me):

SCQA
Situation (summary)
Complication (problem)
Question (what to do?)
Answer (solution)
E.g.
-Clickbait posts attract vanity follows
-But disinterested audiences rarely engage or buy
-The key to valuable growth that converts?
-Quality content that resonates & builds authority

3. Audience > You
People want to learn, grow, overcome problems, reach goals, and so on.
You can talk about yourself but in the context of helping others.
Posts that are specific, direct, and outcome-driven perform much better than generalized, self-serving shares.

Here's what I mean:
β My business is killing it. I've created amazing processes. Here's my story:
β I've built my business to $X/month in [TIMEFRAME]. My secret? Documented processes from day 1 so I could delegate & focus on sales. Here are X lessons to scale efficiently:

The first example:
-Is self-centered
-Doesn't strategically inject credibility
-Doesn't tell the reader what they'll learn
The second example:
-Adds quantifiable proof
-Gets specific
-Tells the reader exactly what they'll learn

4. Body
Once you capture attention, you need to keep it.
You want readers to:
-Feel like they're learning
-Experience zero friction
-Stay interested throughout
To do that:
-Share unique insights
-Add the "why" and "how"
-Show, don't just tell

Valuable content helps readers:
-Visualize the concepts youβre explaining
-Extract takeaways they can emulate
-Reach βaha!β moments
-Gets ahead of objections
Consider:
-Can I back this up with data?
-What's the impact of this?
-How can the reader do it?

A few weeks back I edited my friend's thread and shot a Loom while doing it.

Writing advice means nothing if you don't:
-Know who you are
-Know who your audience is
You can't poke at pain if you don't understand the underlying causes.
It's hard to build relationships if people don't "get" you.
You don't need a niche, but you do need self-awareness.

Whoops my friend pointed out that I wrote the wrong formula name (HTAS) instead of the correct HRST.
He was super confused π
Typos gonna typo on the Twits!
If youβre curious HTAS is another fab formula and stands for:
Hook
Thesis
Antithesis
Synthesis
Cheerio π€
