People seem to dig my podcast.
So here's a behind-the-scenes look at how I make it.
If you haven't heard of it, it's called I WANT TO KNOW and it's got a unique format:
The format is simple:
A guest asks me 3 questions about audience or biz growth.
I answer about 10 minutes each.
It's like free consulting.
There's no long intro, no fluff, and I try to provide as much value per minute as possible.
I don't do this 👇
One of the things I'm most proud of with the show is you don't have to be some famous, successful person to be on it.
You just have to come up with 3 good questions to ask me.
I created this page/form to let anyone apply to be on the show.

I get lots of applicants which has been awesome.
So how do I decide who to book?
I look for:
• Great questions
• Topics I haven't already covered
• Topics I have proven expertise in
• Stuff my audience also wants to figure out
Once I book a guest...
The show's not scripted and I don't do any heavy editing, but...
I spend a bit of time considering my answer to the guest's questions in advance of the show.
I jot down some thoughts as opposed to just winging it when we record.
This prep does a few important things...
By having the questions in advance, it allows me to put thought into my answers and create more value for my guest and audience.
Most podcasts are spontaneous.
But remember my goal:
To create as much value per minute as possible.
Prep helps me do that.
In addition to guests coming on and asking me 3 questions, occasionally I'll do a "flip the script" episode.
This is where I bring on an expert and ask them the questions.
I know a lot of stuff, but I don't know it all.
This lets me tap into what others know.
It's been amazing to have people like @thejustinwelsh, @amandanat, and @theKevinShen come on and share their brilliance with me and my audience.
Plus, the show format and questions I come up with creates a different lens into their knowledge than you may get on other shows.
I'm only 17 episodes into my podcast, and there are certainly bigger shows out there.
But I'm thrilled with how it's going and the response people have to it.
With each ep I figure out a little better how to live up to my goal of providing the most value per minute out there.
Here's a good place to start if you haven't checked out my show yet.
And if you have...THANK YOU!
I'd love to hear what you like about it and why you think others should check it out.
I just might mention your comment on the show. 😉
