Are you planning to get off birth control (BCP)l or stopped recently and experiencing irregular periods, clotting, acne, headaches?
Here's some steps you can take to support your journey reclaiming hormonal balance and eliminate post-birth control syndrome (PBCS)

1 - Depleted minerals by the oral contraception:
Exposure to this medication increases the burn rate of our most important micronutrients:
folate
vitamins B2, B6, B12
vitamin C
vitamin E
magnesium
selenium
zinc

2- Foods high in those minerals should be included in abundance to replenish:
Organs
Eggs
Fruit
Shellfish/Fish
Meat on bone/bone broth
Butter and raw/fermented dairy products
All bee products
Sea Salt
3- BCP has negative effect on gut: unbalanced microbiome, overgrowth of candida with re-occurent yeast infections.
Make sure there's plenty of stomach acid and bile:
- Digestive bitters
- Digestive enzymes
- Support thyroid
- Support bile function
- Spore probiotics
5 - Promote healthy levels of progesterone:
- Good carbs like fruit, honey, root veggies
- 90-120g of diversified animal protein
- Good fats: coconut oil, butter, eggs
- Lots of vitamin C
- Weight training > cardio
- Be mindful of blue light from tech and EMF
- Sun/grounding
6 - Track cycle and PMS:
- Monitore pulse rate, temp and cervical fluid
- Track cycle on app, I use like MyFlo.
- If you experience PMS, progesterone might be too low in the luteal phase, step 1-5 important
- Same goes for menstrual symptoms like headaches, cramps, clotting.
7 - Seek support:
- Read books like In The Flo, Beyond the Pill, Hormone Repair Manual
- Join community groups like Estrogen Dominance Support Group (FB).
- Book an appointment with a functional practioner or naturopath to build a protocol custom tailored to your needs.
