Slowly catching up with this week's Census data on identity (etc) so I made a quick map, but what identity could I be mapping here? (highest value is just under 25%, in Camborne)
'Welsh only' (max is 82%) on the left and 'Welsh and British' on the right (max 17%)
- this is all from Table TS027, LSOA level - bulk download EVERYTHING here nomisweb.co.uk
most interesting thing I found so far is that the areas with the highest % ticking 'English only' appear to be in Wales - right on the border to the west of Chester. Top 6 'English only' LSOAs by % all in Wales, top in England is in Canvey Island
from the raw data on 'English only' (Table TS027, LSOA level), I suppose I didn't expect the top of the list to look so Welsh in terms of location - vox-pops incoming if you live in these areas!
do the 'How well do you know your area?' ONS quiz to see how much you know about where you live vs the Eng & Wal 2021 Census results - I didn't do very well
ons.gov.uk
highest % answering 'British' only (86%) is in Savile Town in Dewsbury, highest % answering 'Non-UK identity' only (84%) is in West Suffolk
and of course I have to add the most Scottish places in England (areas with the highest % of people ticking only the 'Scottish' identity box in Q14 of 2021 Census)
Berwick, Catterick Garrison and Corby
