HOW TO START (π§΅):
We all have needs.
Ideally, we had a parent figure who helped us understand our emotions and provided a secure space for us to get our needs met.
Ideally, we had a parent figure who helped us understand our emotions and provided a secure space for us to get our needs met.
Many of us were raised in homes where our physical needs were met (roof over our head, meals, clothing etc.) but our emotional needs were not.
These parents where: distracted, impatient, overworked, shut down, or dealing with their own generational trauma.

This creates insecurity.
Why?
If our emotional needs weren't met, we don't truly understand our emotions.
We don't know how to express ourselves.
Why?
If our emotional needs weren't met, we don't truly understand our emotions.
We don't know how to express ourselves.
And, we don't trust that we can meet our own needs or that other people will help us to meet our needs.
As adults, we can become more confidence by learning what our emotional needs are and learning healthy ways to get them met.
The first step is to understand what your emotional needs actually are.
You might have a pattern of: ignoring, suppressing, or putting the needs of others before your own.
