Want to recharge your batteries during the holidays?
Bad ideas:
• binge Netflix
• drink like a fish
• eat until you explode
Here are 10 good ones:
1/ Sleep. It's been a long year, and your body feels it.
Get those zzz's in to:
• reduce stress
• physically recover
• improve overall well-being
Try to keep a constant schedule throughout this period.
2/ Volunteer
Not everyone is as lucky as you are.
• help out at a soup kitchen
• encourage friends to donate to a cause
• approach someone in need and help him/her
Give back. Helping others can bring a sense of purpose and fulfilment.
3/ Go outside
Start your day with a long walk or a jog.
Get some fresh air after a heavy meal.
Your body will thank you the next day.
4/ Set boundaries
Say no to activities or events that may be overwhelming or stressful.
• work email
• tasks you dread
• mean online comments
And maybe it's time to remove some negative people from your life.
5/ Be kind to yourself
The season might seem stressful as everyone plans dinners and get-togethers.
Focus on what You want:
• take a warm bath
• get a massage
• read a book
You've got to be selfish sometimes.
6/ Practice mindfulness
Make time for:
• deep breathing
• meditation
• yoga
Or any other relaxation technique
7/ Do something creative
It's the best time to pick up or get back to a creative hobby:
• drawing
• photography
• a pottery class
Or just take a few moments and put your thoughts on paper.
It will bring clarity.
8/ Healthy diet and hydration
You know those 20 lbs you tried to get rid of? Don't put them back in 3 days.
• eat vegetables
• don't eat after you're full
• drink more water than alcohol
This will also influence your sleep and overall well-being.
9/ Spend time with loved ones
Christmas is all about family and friends.
Engage in activities that bring you together.
10/ Take a break from technology
It's time to rest and connect in person.
Everyone is posting photos of their Christmas tree.
Live in the present. Be the one who admires it in silence.
TL;DR: 10 ways to recharge during the holidays.
1/ Sleep
2/ Volunteer
3/ Go outside
4/ Set boundaries
5/ Be kind to yourself
6/ Practice mindfulness
7/ Do something creative
8/ Healthy diet and hydration
9/ Spend time with loved ones
10/ Take a break from technology
