5 Simple Ways To Be More Confident That You Can Start Practicing Today:
1. Stop over-explaining: over-explaining is an anxiety based habit that shows we aren't comfortable making our own decisions.
"I won't be able to make that" or a short sentence is all that's necessary when declining something. People will appreciate this.
2. Allow yourself to be misunderstood
Our role in life isn't to be liked. Our role is to like ourselves and to be in alignment without our own values. Confident people understand they don't need people's approval to live the life they choose.
3. Pause before getting back to people or responding.
Confident people take time to check in with themselves before making any emotionally based (habit) decision. Give yourself space before firing off those texts or emails.
4. Practice stop asking for people's advice before making decisions.
Many of us are in the habit of asking many people what they think we should do because what we really want is reassurance. Start making choices without seeking feedback. Learn yourself.
5. Spend time alone
Spend time alone with your own thoughts rather than planning every minute of your day. Take yourself out on a date alone. Spend time getting to know you. Confident people are self-aware and don't need to always be around other people.
