Humans are not supposed to spend 8 hours a day sitting down
Here quick tips to action so your health is not negatively impacted
Sitting down for long periods can cause back pain, stiff muscles, and poor circulation.
But there are simple exercises you can do throughout the day to prevent these issues and stay healthy.
Start by standing up and stretching every 30-60 minutes.
Take a quick walk around your office or do a few simple stretches like reaching your arms up overhead and side-to-side.
To strengthen your core and improve posture, try seated leg raises.
Sit up straight in your chair, lift one leg up until it's parallel to the floor, hold for a few seconds, and lower it back down.
Repeat on the other side.
Shoulder rolls are another great exercise to improve posture and relieve tension.
Sit up straight, roll your shoulders forward and up, then back and down. Repeat for several reps.
Resistance band exercises are also a great option for desk workers.
Keep a band at your desk and use it for exercises like bicep curls, tricep extensions, and shoulder presses.
If possible get an adjustable standing desk, this will bring many health benefits:
Increase Energy
Improve Mood
Harness Joints and Muscles
Boost productivity
Lose Weight
Improve Mental Focus
Lower Risk of Disease
Take advantage of your lunch break to get in some exercise.
Go for a walk outside or hit the gym for a quick workout.
Your body will thank you for the break from sitting.
Thats all for today!
Remember, even small amounts of movement throughout the day can have a big impact on your health.
So make a conscious effort to move more and take care of your body while you work.
I hope this will help you battle the sedentary lifestyle.
