What is DNS?
A simple thread ๐Ÿงต
๐Ÿ‘‰ DNS translates domain names into IP addresses.
๐Ÿ‘‰ DNS functions as a phonebook for the internet.
๐Ÿ‘‰ DNS allows users to access websites using domain names instead of IP addresses.
๐Ÿ‘‰When a user enters a domain name, the DNS locates the corresponding IP address and directs the request to the correct server.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The process starts with the computer sending a query to a recursive resolver.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The recursive resolver searches a series of DNS servers, starting with the root server, followed by the TLD server, and finally the authoritative name server.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Once the IP address is found, the recursive resolver returns it to the computer.
๐Ÿ‘‰ The browser then establishes a connection with the target server and accesses the desired content.
