Google Ad is hard to crack at the start.
You watch a ton of tutorials. You spend days setting up a new campaign.
But you’re still seeing no conversions…
If that’s the case for your brand, here's how to fix it 🧵
0. Check Conversion Tracking
We once had a client whose campaigns showed no conversions…
But everything else seemed normal.
As it turned out, they were tracking the wrong conversion action.
Before you do anything else, make sure your tracking is set up correctly.
1. Check all traffic sources
Head to your Google Analytics account.
Check whether the problem is limited to Google Ads or if it’s affecting all traffic sources.
If your conversions are low across the board, the issue might not be your ads.
Instead, focus on:
Your landing page
Your pricing
Your offer
Google Ads is just one part of your funnel.
If everything else is performing fine, start digging into your Google Ads account.
2. Impressions and clicks
Take a look at how many impressions & clicks your ads get.
If these numbers are consistently low, it’s a sign something inside your account is off.
3. Check for errors
This might seem basic, but it’s often overlooked.
Double-check your:
• Billing information
• Ad, ad group, and campaign statuses
If everything looks good, move on to the next step.
4. Check your CTR
If your CTR is < 8%, your ads likely aren’t resonating with your audience.
To fix this, review your:
• Ad copy
• Keywords
• Device and location bid modifiers
Make adjustments and test again.
5. Check your keywords
Head to Keywords → Search terms.
Go through the search terms that triggered your ads.
Irrelevant search terms? Add them as negative keywords.
High-performing keywords? Add them as an exact match.
And don’t forget about long-tail keywords.
They’re more specific, face less competition, and tend to convert better.
For example:
• Short-tail: “shoes”
• Long-tail: “women’s running shoes with arch support”
The more specific you get, the better your results.
6. Check your copy
Your ad copy is the first thing people see, and it needs to do 3 things:
• Target the keyword
• Trigger their emotion
• Let them know what to do
But it doesn’t stop there...
Your ad copy must align with your landing page.
Each ad should have its own specific landing page with:
• Custom titles
• Custom images
• Custom descriptions
Specificity is key.
