HYPERSPLENISM AND ANEMIA
The idea that hypersplenism causes pancytopenia (a common claim) makes no physiological sense.
Yes, it may lead to low platelets because TPO production is mediated by total platelet mass, no matter where the platelets are distributed.

But RBC production is mediated by hypoxia-inducible EPO production, which in turn is determined by circulating Hb. Sequester more RBCs in the spleen, Hb drops, kidney makes more EPO, RBC mass is restored (assuming a healthy marrow).
WBC count regulation mostly a black box.
