You want radiant youthful skin & hair?
Here's my Anti-Aging Tallow & Honey Balm recipe:
After taking Accutane for Cystic Acne, my skin and hair lacked that youthful glow and were often dry and irritated.
While a real foods diet helped restore my skin and hair after the medication, I still needed more.
Tallow skincare products have made all the difference for me.
Tallow skincare products have endless benefits:
🔹 Simple
🔹 Versatile
🔹 Hydrating
🔹 Eliminates irritations
🔹 Natural & sustainable
🔹 Repairs damaged skin
🔹 Prevents breakdown of collagen
🔹 Defends against wrinkles & fine lines
Tallow balms possess these properties for a few reasons. They include:
✅ Rich amounts of Vitamin A, D, E, and K
✅ Balanced Fatty-acid Compositions
🚫 Zero Irritating Filler Ingredients
Here is an amazing article on all of the benefits of using beef tallow as a cosmetic product, which touches on details I won't get into:
misumiskincare.com
In it's simplest terms: tallow is the "King of Cosmetics" because it:
1. Promotes younger-looking skin
2. Fights against future breakouts
3. Shields from damage
Enough on the benefits.
Here's my amazingly easy to make Anti-Aging Tallow & Honey Balm recipe👇
INGREDIENTS
1 cup 100% grass-fed beef tallow
1/4 cup of organic olive oil
1 tbsp of local raw honey
10 drops of essential oils
Pinch of @redmondrealsalt
TOOLS:
A large mixing bowl
An electric mixer
A Mason Jar
A saucepan
A spatula
Step 1: Melt your tallow on low heat in your saucepan until it's liquified.
Step 2: Add your 1 cup of tallow to a large mixing bowl with your 1/4 cup of olive oil, essential oils, raw honey, and salt.
Step 3: Using your electric hand-mixer, lightly mix these ingredients for 5-10 minutes until they are fully mixed and turn a frothy white color.
Your tallow may start to form strange patterns. It's okay and expected.
Step 4: Put your large mixing bowl with your tallow in the refrigerator for an hour to let the balm harden.
It should be firm when your mixer touches the tallow.
Step 5: Remove your tallow from the refrigerator and mix it again with your electric mixer until it's fluffy and holds its form.
When you are done, you should have a very soft and light mixture that can still hold its form.
Step 6: Scoop your tallow into a mason jar and enjoy anti-aging, all-natural skin and hair care!
The entire process should take you about 15 minutes of active work and an hour of refrigerating the tallow - start to finish in under an hour and a half!
Some critical thoughts to keep in mind 👇
1. Not all tallow is created equal
Source 100% grass-fed beef tallow
If you want an environmentally friendly and consistent product you need to source from 100% grass-fed beef with a high preference for regeneratively farmed beef.
2. Smell
Adding essential oils helps neutralize the smell of the tallow.
3. Texture
Adding olive oil makes the tallow balm fluffy and easy to apply.
