How to avoid sunburn
(No sunscreen needed)
A thread ๐Ÿงต
Would you squat 500lbs if you've never lifted before?
Of course not
Expecting to tan without burning, if you've never trained your body to handle it, is equally absurd
Here is what you have to do:
1. Avoid seed oils
They exacerbate burning by oxidizing inside your skin much more quickly than saturated fats would.
But it's only half the battle...
2. Eat more retinol
Vitamin A, from animal sources only. It's necessary for your skin to form new cells correctly
3. Train yourself
Just like squatting, you'd start light and build up over time.
Don't expect to fly to Tulum and sunbathe for 8 hrs a day after working from home all winter.
5 mins at noon, for a week, then 10, then 15. If you burn, you're going to fast.
4. Remove your glasses, sunglasses, and contacts
The eyes detect UV light and tell your skin to produce more melanin.
Lenses block UV light, so your skin is unable to prepare for the sun.
