10 steps for perfect skin, naturally:
Your skin is a representation of your overall health.
Skin issues are typically a result of inflammation, gut issues, an immune response, etc.
Luckily, there are measures you can take to NATURALLY fix your skin, that are great for your overall health as well.
Here they are:
1. Take care of your gut.
The gut-skin axis is a bi-directional pathway that connects the gut and skin. Gut microbes send signals to the skin and influence things like inflammation, skin structure and sebum production.
Without a healthy gut, it’ll be hard to have perfect skin.
2. Antioxidants
Antioxidants limit free radical production, which damages the skin. Antioxidants can combat oxidative stress, which breaks down collagen. Vitamins C, A, and E all play a huge role in skin health. Vitamin C, for example, helps boost collagen production.
3. Bone Broth/Collagen
These can both play a huge role in healing the gut, which is extremely important for your skin. Not only that, but collagen (the main structural protein of your skin) and gelatin have been shown to improve skin elasticity and improve moisture content.
4. Shower filter
Tap water is usually loaded with harmful contaminants like fluoride and chlorine which can cause inflammation and oxidative stress on your body. Hard water can clog pores which can cause breakouts. A shower filter can do wonders for both your skin and hair.
5. Reduce blue light
Constant, artificial blue light exposure to your skin can lead to changes in your skin cells, including shrinkage and death, which can speed up aging of your skin. It can also lead to DNA damage which can cause inflammation & breakdown of collagen & elastin.
6. Proper Sleep hygiene
Your body repairs itself while you sleep. It affects the immune system, regulates your cortisol levels, increase your production of collagen, and so much more. All of which play a role in skin health.
How to have perfect sleep:
-Same bed & wake time every day
-Morning sunlight
-Exercise
-Candle light only or nighttime blue blockers 2+ hours before bed
-Magnesium glycinate & theanine
-Magnesium spray on back of neck
-Cold + pitch black room
-Mouth tape
-No caffeine after 10am
7. Eat an overall nutritious diet
Some of the most important nutrients for skin are:
Vitamin A
Zinc
Vitamin C
Magnesium
Vitamin D
Biotin
Sulfur
Vitamin E
Omega 3’s
Sulfur
Probiotics
Vitamin K2
Selenium
Some of the best foods for your skin:
-Salmon
-Eggs
-Liver
-Blueberries
-Avocados
-Bone broth
-Extra virgin olive oil
-Sweet potatoes
-Cacao
8. Hydrate well
When your body's overall hydration levels are low, blood circulation wanes and cells receive less oxygen. Skin cells that lack oxygen appear dull and rough, and wrinkles & fine lines become emphasized.
It is important to drink quality spring water with minerals.
9. Manuka face mask
Manuka honey has powerful antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. On clean skin, apply raw Manuka honey to the face, let sit for 20 minutes, then wash off with a warm wash cloth. It should have an MGO of at least 250, & UMF 16.
10. Tallow balm
Truly the only skincare product you’ll ever need
-Tallow shares the same fatty acids with the oils in skin
-Honey has antioxidant, antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties
-EVOO has vitamin E which has antioxidant properties when used topically
To recap, the 10 steps are:
1. Take care of gut

4. Shower filter
