Folks in the health and fitness industry get frustrated with clients desperate to shed holiday weight gain, only to ghost them in February. Here's how New Year’s Resolutions can lead to real change. #AThread
1. You are carrying a heavy backpack when u decide to change. Inside the back pack is your history, habits. perceived failures, guilt, why you failed earlier etc. Get a coach who can unload that backpack and start fresh
Most coaches tell your client to “just keep going” or “try harder,” and carry that backpack with them.
2. Make a temporal landmark date. Instead of your brain thinking it a life long change, set a goal few months from New Year. May be your birthday or By Holi- I will achieve this.
3. Do a 30 day trial. If you want to stop eating sugar for life, start with a 30 day trial. As with temporal landmarks,a trial can make change feel possible, particularly since it has an expiration date. It can feel a whole lot easier to do something for 30 days than,a lifetime.
4.Lookback before looking forward - When we look back on our past efforts, and reset our focus on what’s coming, we naturally draw a mental line in the sand, distinguishing between past and future -thus giving us the feeling of a fresh start.

>What are you most proud of?
>What more would you have liked to accomplish?
Look forward
>What goals are you most looking forward to?
>What advantages do you think you have that’ll make progress more likely?
>Are there any obstacles you can anticipate in advance?
> How can you make sure those things don’t get in your way?

6. Choose a guiding word- Rather than making specific resolutions,choose a “Word of the Year.”The word you choose can then act as a natural decision-making. Say 'Healthier' or "Happier'. Your every action- filter through this word to see does it pass your word of the year.
These tools will definitely help and if u still fall off the wagon, start fresh. Fresh starts are always helpful.
