10 harsh fat loss truths you need to read if you want to get your body in shape:
1. Being fat and out of shape is a choice.
Blaming your genetics for being fat is a cope.
Your habits are the root cause of your weight issues.
You consistently consumed too many calories until your weight got out of hand.
Put the blame 100% on yourself and you're more likely to get in shape.
2. Losing fat > Losing weight
You don't want to lose weight, you want to lose fat
Weight loss leaves you skinny fat due to losing muscle
You need to lift weights and eat a high-protein diet so you can retain your muscle mass
This is vital if you want to keep the fat off
3. Losing fat is never easy.
Your body will fight back as you lose weight.
Your hunger levels will be rise.
Your cravings will become stronger.
You'll have less energy to move.
You have to keep pushing even when it gets tough.
4. Losing slow > fast
Most try to lose weight fast by severely cutting calories & doing extreme amounts of cardio
The faster you lose the more muscle you lose and the less sustainable it is
Losing at a rate of 1lb per week with a high protein diet and lifting is the way
5. You're not always going to "feel like it"
You're not always going to want to eat healthy
You're not always going to want to workout
You're not always going to want to get your steps in
The key to getting in shape is showing up even when you absolutely don't feel like it
6. You have to face your emotions
Many use food to numb their emotions.
They eat when they're bored. Stressed. Anxious.
You need to find other outlets for your emotions.
Breathing techniques, meditation, active hobbies, & journaling are great ideas.
7. You must change
If the the current you caused you to get fat, you can't remain the same and expect to be fit.
You must change your beliefs, habits, and lifestyle.
If this identity shift doesn't happen, you are not going to be able to keep the fat off.
8. Your metabolism doesn't slow down with age.
Metabolism stays relatively consistent from age 20-60.
This means if you gain weight between these ages it's all due to your choices.
No room for coping, own your problems and take action to become healthy.
9. Not having time is a shitty excuse
If you don't make time for your health.
You'll be forced to make time for your sickness.
When you say you don't have time to exercise and eat healthy, you're saying those things aren't a priority.
"Living a little" = not caring about your health
If you're "living a little" every weekend, eventually it will catch up with you
You have to tip your life balance towards healthiness 80% of the time
Actual living is doing things that enhance life not things that lead you…
