1. When do you have your heaviest meal?
If any meal other than lunch is your heaviest meal then your body is going to have a difficult time in digesting it.
It is because our digestive fire is aligned with nature’s rhythm, which is also known as circadian rhythm.
So, when the sun is at its peak around noon, your digestive fire is at its peak too.
This gives the body high energy to digest those big number of calories and clear off the glucose off your bloodstream, which if undigested, would turn into body fat.
2. When do you eat your first meal?
According to the new research findings in the field of chronobiology, you should only eat after 1 hour of waking up.
This gives your body enough hours of fasting, which basically starts after your dinner the previous night.
Fasting has ben proven to reduce blood glucose levels, increase the good bacterias in your gut and reverse ageing.
3. When do you workout?
The bigger principle that you must follow is to workout everyday.
But if you want to fine tune this, then you should workout in the morning.
The reason is because as per Ayurveda, 6AM to 10AM is in Kappha energy, which is predominated by water and this is why you feel heavy and dull.
So, workout in the morning helps you balance out the Kapha energy and helps you get ready for the day ahead.
4. When do you go to sleep?
Your body starts releasing Melatonin (the sleep hormone) by 9 PM.
So, you should ideally go to sleep by 10PM or 10.30 PM.
Another reason is that there are certain genes, which get activated by sleeping on time & by looking at natural light during day.
But when you do not sleep during the right hours and see light during the day, then those genes go out of sync and as a result your health suffers.
Also, 10PM to 2AM is the time when your body repairs different cells in various systems.
So, if you miss sleeping during these hours, then you are missing out on major health benefits.
5. How do you eat your meals?
Food is divine.
So, if you aren’t treating it as divine, then you are doing injustice to it. You should be eating your food with all your senses.
So, keep the screen as far away as possible and enjoy your meals.
When you do this, your body releases the right enzymes that help you digest your food well.
This further helps you in assimilating the nutrients required by the body for proper functioning of the whole system.
