I spent 2168 hours mastering the art of cooking so you don’t have to.
Here are 7 secrets I learned that will help you optimise your nutrition, spend less time cooking and enjoy your diet:
//Thread//
1. Cook your protein and vegetables in the same pan:
The flavours of the protein transfer to the vegetables.
Just make sure you start cooking the protein first.
So they are done cooking at the same time.
This technique works best with bacon, beef and chicken.
2. Ditch the McDonald fries and make your own:
To make healthy but tasty home made fries:
Pre heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chop your potatoes into fry shape (doesn’t have to be perfect).
Season with:
-Garlic powder
-Thyme
-Oregano
-Salt
-Pepper
-Chilli flakes
-Paprika.
Use a bit of olive oil so the potatoes don’t stick to the pan.
Put in the oven for 15-20, take it out and mix it around and put it back for 15-30 minutes until its crispy and fully cooked.
While your potatoes are cooking, you can make the rest of your meal.
Just make sure to check on the potatoes envy 10 minutes.
3. If you have a roommate/girlfriend:
Cook for both of you for 1-2 meals and have them cook the other 1-2 meals.
It doesn’t take any additional time to increase your serving size.
Or you could take turns who does the cooking and who toes the cleaning.
This is a win-win situation.
4. Use the same seasonings for your protein and vegetables:
Mix your seasonings in a bowl first then season all together.
This saves time and makes sure your food is evenly seasoned.
My go to seasonings are:
- Black pepper
- Pink salt
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Cumin
- Chilli flakes
- Curry powder
5. Eat eggs every morning:
There is a reason why every fitness account here is obsessed with eggs.
They are THAT good (health wise and taste wise).
You can do all the research you want or you can trust me when I say:
You can’t eat too many eggs.
I eat 4-6 eggs every morning.
This saves me time thinking about what to eat for breakfast.
Plus eggs are super easy and quick to cook.
5. Always have fresh garlic available:
Garlic makes every dish better.
Just make sure you have some gum or toothpaste if you have post dinner plans ;)
5B. Crush 2-3 big cloves of garlic and throw it in the pan with hot olive oil to flavour the oil you cook with:
This is more time efficient then chopping up the garlic into tiny pieces.
Not only does garlic taste good but its also boosts your testosterone.
For something that is so simple, tasty and versatile...
You wouldn't expect it to have health benefits too.
Moral of the story: eat more garlic.
6. Butterfly your chicken before cooking it:
Butterflying is a technique where you cut a chicken breast in half making it thinner.
(See picture)
What this does is allow your chicken to cook faster and more evenly.
The risk of undercooking of overcooking your chicken is drastically reduced.
Butterfly your chicken first, then season it.
7. Use olive oil, butter or ghee while cooking:
Fuck vegetable and canola oil.
You can mix olive oil and butter if you want to be crazy or are on a bulk :)
That's it from me, to recap:
1. Cook your protein and vegetables in the same pan.
2. Ditch the McDonald fries and make your own.
3. Take turns cooking/cleaning with your roomate/girlfriend.
4. Use the same seasonings for your protein and vegetables.
5. Always have fresh garlic available:
5B. Crush 2-3 big cloves of garlic and throw it in the pan with hot olive oil to flavour the oil you cook with.
6. Butterfly your chicken before cooking it.
7. Use olive oil, butter or ghee while cooking.
