Most people drastically underestimate the amount of energy your body uses when you’re living properly:
When you move as much as we’re supposed to be moving + you’re operating with a high metabolic efficiency…
It should be nearly impossible to have a lot of excess body fat…
If you have an above average amount of lean muscle mass and your metabolism is strong:
Your basal metabolic rate should be easily burning;
- 2100 kcal for men
- 1700kcal for women
This doesn’t even account for active calories;
Which should be a minimum of 1500 kcal per day…
The issue is how much we underestimate what normal levels of movement looks like:
We often say 10,000 steps per day as a baseline to start leaning down…
But humans in general should be moving at least 20,000 steps per day as a standard of living;
That’s just our biology….
Hitting these daily step counts in unison with 3-4 intense lifting sessions per week and a couple cardio/sport sessions should yield:
- Minimum of 26,000 calories a week for men
- Minimum 21,000 calories a week for women
Eating properly, this shouldn’t be easy or difficult…
Your body should be an energy burning machine if you’re living properly…
